CHAPTER -2, THE 21ST MAY

Its 21st May 2008, and its just like the gloomy May 21st before 17 years on which day he was assassinated. Its the seventeenth death anniversary of Mr. Rajeev Gandhi, the Seventh Prime Minister of India. He can very well remember now that morning before 17 years was sad and gloomy. His father was standing in front of the well his friend was also there, discussing something. He was just wake up and gone to his father with a cup of tea. The father said to him that Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by the Tamil Tigers of Srilanka. Tigers? Tamil Tigers? Suicide bomb? The boy was not familiar with these words, but he knows Rajeev, he likes Rajeev and he is a fan of Rajeev, not a political fan but he likes his English speeches in republic days and August 15th, he don't know the meaning but he likes the style of pronunciation from his whitish face.
In May 21st 1991, he was in third standard, nothing knows about LTTE and its Tiger members. But he now thinks about that morning. What will be the mental condition of Thenmoli Rajaratnam or Dhanu or Gayathri, the three names of the assassin, in that morning he thought. Her mind may be in a freezing condition. She is going to kill herself today and she is going to kill a reputed politician.
For what? For her ideology she believes, for the Tamil population in Srilanka, for Mr. Veluppillai Prabhakaran- the supreme commander. What will be her last wish before going to kill herself. This is the question he want to ask to any suicide bomber if he meet any one of them. A lunch with the supremo? A photograph with the supremo? Promotions or awards after death in the cadre? Or Sex as an unmarried young? He don't know what it is. Thenmoli knows her target and she was firm on her target we can see an extra ordinary courage here because the RDX had exploded through a switched mode system operated by herself. A hug with the death. She has gone and she has taken the Former Prime Minister of India.
Another man is there in the story. His morning also may be as usual. Wake up, tea, then break fast, get ready for a mission, taken his camera and gone to take the death on picture. Long wait has got an end finally Rajeev came and gone but not though the way he came. He has taken the photographs that how they killed Rajeev. He completed his mission of saying the truth to the world through his camera and gone to death. He is the press photographer whose camera found from the site with a lot of valuable clues about the assassination.
Then how it will be the morning of Rajeev. May be as usual busy election engagements but one thing his mind got something like a hint about the death so that he avoided his wife Sonia unlikely from other functions. He flew down in Chennai and gone to Sriperumbudur in an ambassador car. He has attended several election functions during his way. He reached the venue of the death and walked through the way of enlightening to the dais and finally the clock said the final time 10 hrs and 10 minutes night. Thenmoli came, greeted Rajeev, toughed his feet for blessings, and switched on the deadly explosive.
10:10:00 pm the boy was sleeping with a high heart beet without knowing all these. Next day morning he stood up. The mother has given a cup of tea and he went to his father. The father told him that you need not go to school today. Rajeev was assassinated by the Tamil Tigers. Tamil Tigers? Suicide bomb? The boy got confused but at the same time he became gloomy with the nature because he love Rajeev as a young Prime Minister.

CHAPTER -1 A BOY WHO HATES RAIN

It was a rainy june 5th evening 4 O clock, he was standing infront of the empty school corridor and he seems to be crying with in a couple of seconds. He hates rain because he can't go to that hill to see the reddish evening sun at the west. Actually it was not the rain stoped his daily visit to the hill with his grantfather, sometimes with father but he started going to school. For the last five days he didin't visit the hill to see the sun. Yesterday father had promised him to bring there but now this stupid rain is in full swing in this evening. His neighbour friend was absent today so at the morning mother asked - "shiva are you familier with the route from the school?". He said prodly that "I know very well" even though he started to travell to school just for the last five days. He was happy in the morning but now this rain upsets him and he had no mind to go back to home now. His white and blue uniform was partialy touched by the stupid rain and he became angry and thrown his biscuit box out in the rain. It was his usual doing that when ever he became unhappy, angry, he will thrown out something he like very much. A couple of hot drops came from his eyes this time, because he like that orange colour biscuitbox very much. At the time of joining day in the school he was interestingly watching that many children were crying loudly. His father was so proud at that time that, his son was unlikely joyfull to join in the school. But to day evening he was crying that his school timings restricted his freedom a lot. "Why you are not moving to home baby?" the teacher who is on the way to her home aked me." He was not silent but crying slowly. "Are you dont have umbrella?" She again asked. He showed his rain coat and umbrella to her without saying any thing. "Then why?" He has broken his silent. "I want to go to my home, I dont know the route to home." "Where is your home?" Stupid question came from her. He replied with his reddish eyes with angry. Actually he knows the way to home but he want to disturb some one at that time. "We have a jwellery shop in the main Junction" he said to the teacher. "Ok I will bring you" the teacher has given a smile to him like the face of the evening sun and he also replied with another smile
He was a bit shy in his school days, keeping away from his classmates and keeping himself silent most of the time becuase he was not comfortable with the Malayalam language. Even though he is a Malayalee his family was lived in southern part of Tamilnadu up to he became five year old. All will smile when he started to speek in Malayalam by mixing Tamil words so the boy was irritated and he became silent and replyed only for relevent questions. This issolated him from most of his classmates and neighbours. But he likes the smile of the girl who is sitting opposite of him in the classroom. She was his close friend up to fifth standard but after fifth when he has shifted to another school has no idea about her. He is still remembering her so that in their third standard he has given a gift to her and the gift is nothing but a KISS on a happy morning. All sarrounded us laughed and she was crying, the boy cannot understand that why she is crying because he has given the kiss with a lot of love. The teacher asked explanation, the boy said my father also giving kisses to my mother. The teacher shocked and she never asked explanations.
